Stories

As well as being named Adirondack Life Magazine’s Best Adirondack Resort in 2019, Great Pines was also named Best Adirondack Hotel in June. Great Pines offers the most stunning views, certainly on Fourth Lake, and perhaps in the entire Adirondacks. That, combined with excellent staff, an emphasis on providing the best customer service possible, and newly renovated guest rooms makes Great Pines Resort the premier Upstate New York getaway.

AN AUTHENTIC ADIRONDACK FEEL

Recently renovated, the guest rooms at Great Pines offer an inviting atmosphere that makes for a truly authentic Adirondack stay. Guests can choose from 29 rooms in 5 different locations: the lodge, cabins, courtside, lake view, and mountain view. The lodge and cabins offer a more intimate stay, with Amish-made Hickory furnishing and 180-degree views of either Fourth Lake or the resort’s privately owned mountain. All rooms feature locally made bath amenities from Beekman 1802, adding a touch of regional culture to the experience.

SERVICE WITH A SMILE

The goal of the Great Pines staff top to bottom is to provide guests with the most complete Adirondack experience possible. This is apparent in every interaction, in any situation. With many local staff, we have knowledge of the area and can help find an activity tailored to you. Whether you are looking for a fun day hike, wondering where to find the best local beer, or anything in between, the Great Pines staff has it covered. Your whim is your goal, and our staff will do everything in their power to make it a reality.

A TASTE OF ADIRONDACK DINING

Finally, along with gorgeous Adirondack-inspired rooms and elite service, Great Pines also offers impressive dining options. Two restaurants are located on the property: The Lodge and The Lean-To. The Lodge is the fine dining option at the resort. The elevated dining room is set above the water, with panoramic views of the lake creating the perfect evening setting. The menu includes locally sourced foods regionally inspired dishes, truly giving guests a taste of the Adirondacks.

On the other hand, the Lean-To offers a more casual feel. Down at water level, the large outdoor deck is the ideal spot to enjoy a meal. Whether taking in afternoon rays or watching the sun slip beneath the lake at sunset, it’s worthy of a photograph. Its menu also includes locally sourced food and drink. The stunning custom walnut slab that serves the full-service bar is the largest in the region.
